Reception: Thursday, February 2nd, 2017; 6-8pm
PlatteForum is pleased to announce the exhibition Glisten of Pavement, Sparkle of Doubt with a free, public reception at PlatteForum, 2400 Curtis Street in Denver.
Developed by PlatteForum’s third Resident Artist of the season, Glisten of Pavement, Sparkle of Doubt is a new exhibition that explores concepts of youth, action, and consequence. Incorporating defunct neon, false traffic and construction signage along with lipstick and other gendered elements, this new work seeks to investigate one’s experience of how to become cognizant of the realities and potentials of our world.
About the Artist Courtney Kemp is Lead Faculty of the MFA in Craft and Material Studies at Oregon College of Art and Craft. She is an alumni member of Ditch Projects, an artist run gallery and collective, and has recently served as the gallery manager of Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland, Oregon.
