Low Residency MFA in Craft and Material Studies begins Summer Session

Our low residency programs launches with a two week on-campus summer intensive followed by the optional two week studio session! Our new cohort comes to OCAC this session with diverse practices and experiences, thinking and making through painting, printmaking, ceramics, and cross-media sculptural works.

With daily class sessions, research projects, and excursions off campus, Critical Studies for summer 2018 explores intuitive archives, acts of viewing and the gaze, low theory, and shadow feminisms (among many other things!). Visits to Samantha Wall's studio and Portland Art Museum, and guest critic Demian DineYazhi’ keep the balance of research, making, and discussion.
